Overview on Hernia Repair
A hernia is an abnormal protrusion in whole or part, through an OPENING, pathological or anatomically in the walls of its containing cavity, e.g., the abdominal cavity. More about Hernia Repair
About Hernia repair
Hernia repair is a surgical procedure done to correct the bulging of the organs or tissue through the weakest part of the muscle or tissue wall. It is recommended when the bulge can't be pushed back in and causes pain and inconvenience. The surgery helps to relieve pain, return the hernia to its correct place and, strengthen the weak muscle area.
The procedure usually takes about 30-45 minutes and is done on an outpatient basis. The urgency of the procedure depends on the size of the hernia and the symptoms.
Signs that you need Hernia repair surgery
Immediate care or surgery may be needed when the person is facing-

Types of Hernia operations
There are 2 types of surgical procedure to cure hernia-
- Open surgery- It is the most conventional way to treat groin hernia. In open surgery, the doctor makes an incision in the groin and pushes the enlarged tissue back to its normal position.
- Laparoscopic surgery- This technique uses cameras and equipment inserted through small incisions around the hernia. Images from those equipments are used as a guide to treat the same with mesh.
